Plovers Ridge is in Lilydale, Northern Tasmania. Being a ridge, the low winter sun hits early and rises above a line of tall gums to the northeast of the house which cast long shadows across the paddock.
The sun's warmth beats back the retreating shadows of these trees from the top of the ridge, down the sloping fields melting the frost from each blade of grass as it goes. Changing the scene from white to green.
It's a beautiful time of year, and by 10 or 11 am, the temperatures are up around 15 to 18 and remain mild till 3 or 4 pm. Cosy winter nights, woodfires, empty roads, crisp, clear sunlight.
D'not come here in the winter, as you just may end up moving here if you do. You have been warned.
